Are You Ready For 31 Days of Halloween!?

Wicked Horror's 31 Days of Halloween celebration begins October 1!
Wicked Horror's 31 Days of Halloween celebration begins October 1!

Wicked Horror’s 31 Days of Halloween celebration rolls out all October long!

31 Days of Halloween is coming to Wicked Horror! Like, tomorrow, on October 1. And it’s going all the way through October 31, because it would be pretty silly to do something called “31 Days of Halloween” and not do something on Halloween itself. That’s just common sense stuff.

So, what is 31 Days of Halloween, you might be wondering? Well, it’s an all-out, all-encompassing, multimedia celebration of all things horror and kitsch. Imagine an entire Trick or Treat bucket of mini-candy bars. Now imagine being able to read, listen and watch the mini-candy bars instead of eating them. That’s kinda what we’re going for here.

Every single day in October we’re going to be hitting you with fresh articles and videos about pretty much everything. In fact, we’ve got specific themes going on every single week, which is a bit of a clue as to what kind of content to expect from Wicked Horror in the month ahead …

31 Days of Halloween 2026 is going to be AWESOME.
31 Days of Halloween 2026 is going to be AWESOME.

Mondays are IT CAME FROM JAPAN Day!

A treasure trove of late ‘80s, VHS-era ephemera from the Land of the Rising Sun! We’ll be digging VERY deep into some horror and horror-adjacent video tapes that run the gamut from cult classic supernatural hokum to stomach-churning experimental arthouse gorno masterpieces … plus some stuff I’m not even sure how to describe, to be honest with you.

Tuesdays are GHASTLY GAMES Day!

A potpourri of retro and more modern-ish video games with a very heavy horror angle to them. From the eight-bit era to the heyday of the Xbox 360, we’ll put the spotlight on some revered and not so revered titles that just scream “play me during the Halloween season!” Consider these articles rated E … for eerie!

Wednesdays are SPOOKY SNACKS Day!

It’s Halloween and corporate America wants your hard earned money. You know you’re going to drop some disposable income on a few weirdo, horror-branded and horror-themed drinks and foodstuffs in spite of yourself, so you might as well embrace the mindless consumerism for a little while. You’ve got to eat something, so you might as well eat SPOOKY!

Thursdays are SNES SCARES Day!

Yep, we’re dedicating an entire day to reflecting on some of the creepiest and most unnerving Super Nintendo Entertainment System games of all-time — we’ve got legit classics and a nice little mix of forgotten licensed tie-in games in the mix for this one. All I can say is that I hope you’re ready for 16 bits of terror!

Alright, who's giving me a ride to Bath and Bodyworks and Yankee Candle later?

Fridays are CLASS OF ‘89 Day!

Forget that weak ass ‘80s AI filter, we’re giving you the REAL late eighties experience by going back and revisiting some of the most idiosyncratically 1989 horror movies ever made. No spoilers, but we’re not putting the spotlight on the ultra obvious candidates here — in fact, you may have never even HEARD of these old-school creepfests before!

Saturdays are KILLER KITSCH Day!

Now we’re REALLY reaching into the digital void for some deep cuts of horror ephemera. We’ll be taking a look at some vintage media — again, no spoilers, but it’s all stuff you might recall from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s — that’ll have you going “wait, they actually did that and I forgot about it?” Trust me, you’ll want this stuff to be a surprise …

Sundays are VIDEO-VISION Day!

That’s right, we’re bringing back video interview segments to Wicked Horror! Tune in every weekend and we’ll give you another sliver of entertaining, genre-specific chit-chat, with particular guests and themes sure to have you slurping on your pumpkin spice lattes with extra excitement. Be there or be square, kids!

If you don't want to watch scary movies and jump in leaves right now, check your pulse.

Oh, and by the way, we’re still going to give your our regular volley of scheduled content: so you’re getting 31 days of all of that good stuff plus our always reliable and always awesome movie, TV and book reviews, plus a few extra guest columns, because why not?

It’s going to be one heck of a Halloween celebration at Wicked Horror. So be sure to check us out every single day and hit the refresh button often — the spectacular seasonal content is going to be coming at you fast and frequently.

Want to get involved in all of the festivities and fun? Of course you do! If you’ve got an idea for an article or video, or want to submit some content yourself, our door is always open. I mean, in a figurative sense, anyway. Hit us up at JamesXSwift86@gmail.com and we’ll get the conversation started.

In the interim, we want to know: what kind of Halloween content do YOU want to see more of at Wicked Horror this year? More movie reviews, more interviews, more features on schlocky commercials, a Halloween costume contest, wacky recipes, we’re open to just about anything. Let us know and we’ll listen.

Enjoy the last vestiges of September, dear readers. Because starting tomorrow, we’re about to get Halloween AF up in here.
